Dr. Paul Herrera, a post-doctoral research fellow in Dr. Ricke's lab has received
a grant for $110,000 from the USDA for a project entitled "A Novel Approach
for Screening Salmonella Enteritidis Genes for In Vitro Invasion of Laying
Hen Follicles." This project is part of Dr. Ricke's program investigating the
mechanisms and regulation (both molecular and dietary) of how bacteria infect
laying hens. Congratulations!
