Poultry Judging Team Wins National Championship

The Texas A&M University Poultry Judging Team traveled to Fayetteville, AR from November 4th to 7th to compete in the National Collegiate Poultry Judging Contest hosted by the University of Arkansas. Twelve teams from across the nation competed and the contest concluded with Texas A&M winning its fourth national competition in a row dating back to April 2006. The team won the Breeder and Carcass Quality division and placed third in the Production and Egg Quality Division. The team consisted of Tim Kuba (High Individual Overall and High Individual Breeder and Carcass Quality Division), Jonathan Preiss (4th Place Overall and 3rd Place Breeder and Carcass Quality Division), Jacob Coppedge (6th Place Overall), and Lesley Vaculin. Amanda Jordan was the alternate on the team. The team is coached by Dr. Jason Lee. Other teams that competed in the contest include Penn State University (2nd Place Team), University of Arkansas (3rd Place Team), Kansas State University (4th Place Team), Louisiana State University (5th Place Team).
