La Vernia FFA wins National Poultry Judging Contest

The Poultry Science Department would like to congratulate the La Vernia FFA Poultry Judging Team for their National Championship. They earned the right to represent Texas at the National FFA Convention by winning the state competition held in May at the Texas A&M University Poultry Science Research, Teaching, and Extension Center. The La Vernia team dominated the competition winning the contest by 134 points over the second place team. The four members of the team placed first through fourth. The team members were as follows:

Charlotte Salinas – High Individual

Andrew Brietzke – 2 nd High Individual

Kyle Sells – 3 rd High Individual

Joshua Garcia – 4 th High Individual
