Lisa Donalson Receives Maurice Stein Fellowship Award
Lisa Donalson, an M. S. graduate
student with Dr. Ricke's laboratory has received the 2005 Maurice Stein Fellowship
Award from the Poultry Science Association.
This award of $1000 is given to a graduate student whose training and research
in applied poultry sciences may lead to improvements if efficiency and profitability
of the poultry industry. Priority is given to candidates whose programs involve
eggs and egg products and business and economics. Ms. Donalson's research is
entitled "The In Vivo And In Vitro Effect Of A Fructooligosaccharide
Prebiotic Combined With Alfalfa Molt Diets On Egg
Production And Salmonella In Laying Hens" and is part of Dr.Ricke's research
program on the dietary, physiological, and molecular factors influencing the
infection of laying hens by salmonella. Congratulations!
