Dr. Reddy Joins Biosecurity Task Force
Dr. Reddy has been appointed to the Biosecurity Task Force of the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists (ACVM) to assist local, state, and federal officials in prevention of, response to, and recovery from infectious diseases which threaten food security or public health. Currently, there are 15 diplomates (including Dr. Reddy) from the US and Canada on the Task Force. They will share expertise in microbiology, infectious diseases, and biosecurity in the event of an animal disease or zoonotic disease emergency. Names of the member on ACVM Biosecurity Task force will be shared with USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Department of Homeland Security for added coordination of expertise. Dr. Reddy is also a participant in the Texas A&M Center for Foreign Animal and Zoonotic Diseases, a program of the US Department of Homeland Security.
