Congratulations to Dr. Steven Ricke and Dr. Suresh Pillai for being promoted from Associate Professor to Professor this fall. These promotions recognize their exceptional productivity and reputation as leaders in their respective fields of expertise. Dr. Ricke teaches POSC 429 Advanced Food Bacteriology and POSC/NUTR/VTMI 614 Fermentation and Gastrointestinal Microbiology. He also does research on poultry and food microbiology with an emphasis on microbial ecology and is the Editor of the journal Bioresource Technology. Dr. Pillai teaches POSC/AGRO/FSTC/VTMI 619 Molecular Methods for Microbial Characterization and POSC 489/689 The Microbiology of Irradiation. He also conducts research on food and environmental microbiology, is the Associate Director of the Texas A&M Institute of Food Science and Engineering, and is the Director of the TAMUS National Center for Electron Beam Food Irradiation. Both Drs. Ricke and Pillai are Faculty Fellows of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, signifying them as two of the leading agricultural researchers in the State.
