Dr. Alan Sams Leaves for Clemson University

Dr. Alan Sams, Department Head of Poultry Science at Texas A&M University since 1999 has accepted an offer to become the new Dean of the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences at Clemson University,  Clemson, South Carolina.  Dr. Sams has been a very valued member of the administration team and will be greatly missed.  His professionalism, leadership and management skills and enthusiasm are just a few of the attributes that make Dr. Sams an excellent leader. We think very highly of Dr. Sams and are very sad to see him leave, but at the same time realize that this is a positive benchmark in his career.  An Interim Department Head will be appointed in the coming weeks and work on conducting a national search beginning the first of the year.  We hope you will join us in  wishing Dr. Sams the greatest success in his new endeavor.
