Dr. Marcos Sanchez Receives Grants From TAMU - MALRC

Dr. Marcos Sanchez has received developmental grants totaling $22,000 for two projects from the Texas A&M University Mexican American and U.S. Latino Research Center. The studies are entitled “Evaluation of Quality Protein Maize in Poultry Nutrition and Its Effects on the Functional Properties of Poultry Meat” and “Approaches to Enhance the Dietary Functionality of Eggs and Poultry Meat Products by Evaluating Product Applications and Preservation Strategies to Minimize the Deterioration of Functional Components.” Additionally, Dr. Sanchez and his graduate assistant,Carlos Narciso-Gaytan were given the titles of MALRC Fellow. This is a 3 year appointment that will allow Dr. Sanchez to apply for additional funding through MALRC and both will be able to attend seminars designed to enhance grant and proposal writing skills.
