Dr. Pillai was one of four Texas
A&M and USDA editors who have just published a book entitled “Preharvest
and Postharvast Food Safety: Contemporary Issues and Future Directions.” In
this book, researchers examine the high-priority food safety areas of pathogen/host
interactions; ecology, distribution
and spread of foodborne hazards; antimicrobial resistance; verification
tests;
decontamination
and prevention strategies; and risk analysis. Drs. Ricke, Byrd, and Pillai
all contributed chapters. The book is available from Blackwell Publishing.
