2005 Poultry Science Weekend

Poultry Science Weekend is one of the highlights of the semester.  Again this year, we had a great crowd with over 250 people at the Weekend's activities.  Some were annual faces and some were faces we had not seen at the Weekend before.  Former students and current students mixed with faculty, staff and industry.  Friendships were renewed, people reconnected with the Department, and some current students maybe even found a job!!  It was a great weekend that was all the more successful due to the hard work of the organizing staff in the Department and the many financial sponsors who made things possible.  Thanks to both of these groups.  Please see the sponsors below and thank them when you see them.

We had a Skeet tournament on friday afternoon hosted by Jack McReynolds.  Justin Terrell was the student winner while Dr. David Caldwell was the non-student winner.  During the social hour preceding dinner, Jason Lee also held a team dominos tournament won by the team of Chad Cliburn and Saxon Dittert.  The Cargill cooking team again prepared the steaks to perfection and we sang happy birthday to Dr. Krueger for the 83rd time.  Several people then moved from the Steak Fry to Northgate for the afterparty.

On saturday, we gathered on the lawn of Kleberg for what was intended to be a come-an-go chili tailgate with the championship chili of Dale Hyatt and the Aggieland Cookers Chicken Bus.  Either everyone was having such a good time or the chili was so good (probably some of both)  because most people just came and stayed the whole time!!!  We had a great time as you can see in the pictures below.  After eating large amounts of Dale's chili, we went to the game and enjoyed watching the Ags "beat the hell outta OSU"!
