Texas Poultry Federation Auction Nets $32,500 for Undergraduate Scholarships

Picture- 220x245At the recent Texas Poultry Federation Convention held in San Antonio, live and silent scholarship auctions organized by the Texas Allied Poultry Association raised a record $32,500 for undergraduate scholarships. A total of 10 undergraduate students from our department serving in the Aggie Leadership Council were on hand to assist with the auctions. The funds raised will be used to provide scholarships for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in Poultry Science at Texas A&M University and Stephen F. Austin State University. These annual scholarships of $1,000 each Guitar-220x245received from the Texas Poultry Federation and its affiliated organizations, the Texas Allied Poultry Association and Texas Broiler Council, are a tremendously important form of financial assistance for our students. In the Fall of 2012 and Spring of 2013, our department awarded 16 Texas Allied Poultry Association scholarships and 19 Texas Broiler Council scholarships totaling $35,000.
