Six Poultry Science undergraduates successfully completed internships with Sanderson Farms this summer.  The Sanderson Farms Summer Internship Program is a 10-week program which places students in one of three areas: Live Production, Processing or Foods Division.  Students selected for Live Production receive hands-on training in all aspects of live production: pullets, hens, broilers, hatchery, feed mill and live haul.  In the procession division, students receive hands-on training in all aspects of poultry processing: live receiving, picking, eviscerating, ice pack, chill pack, cut-up, debone, shipping and sanitation.  In the foods division, students receive hands-on training in all aspects of the prepared foods division: cook line, IQF, raw marination, quality control, product development, shipping and receiving.
