Emily A. Kimminau – The Merck Animal Health Fellowship supports the research of doctoral students interested in innovative applied and basic poultry science research related to intestinal health, immunology, poultry pathology and disease, molecular biology, or vaccine technology and development.
ANDREW F. GIESEN III POULTRY SCIENCE UNDERGRADUATE INTERNSHIP

Emily C. Berger – The Giesen Undergraduate Internship program is designed to attract bright young scientists to learn first-hand how science and technology is applied in solving the challenges of meat and egg production in the modern day poultry industry.

PSA GRADUATE STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD

Morouj Al-Ajeeli – The Poultry Science Association Graduate Student Travel Award is presented to assist poultry science graduate students with travel expenses so that they may attend and present their research findings at the annual Poultry Science Association meeting.

JONES-HAMILTON CO. UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD

Kyle D. Brown – The Jones-Hamilton Co. Undergraduate Student Travel Award is presented to assist poultry science undergraduate students with travel expenses so that they may attend and present their research findings at the annual Poultry Science Association meeting.

PSA HATCHERY – STUDENT DIRECTOR

Timothy Broderick was elected Student Director by the members of the PSA Hatchery during their annual meeting. A Student Director’s duties are to represent student interests on the Poultry Science Board of Directors and to facilitate student planning on educational and social activities. The position is for a two year term.

 

Dr. Morgan Farnell served as General Program Chair for the 2106 Annual Program Committee. Dr. Farnell and the rest of the Annual Program Committee did an outstanding job of organizing the Poultry Science Association meeting this year.  The program this year contained nine symposia, including the National Poultry Extension Workshop, and 528 scientific presentations, of
which 186 were delivered by students.
