POSC Students Receive Awards at the 2017 Poultry Science Association Annual Meeting

Three Poultry Science graduate students were awarded Student Research Paper Certificates of Excellence at the 2017 Poultry Science Association annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, July 17–20, 2017.  These certificates were presented in recognition of students who presented oral high-quality research papers at this annual meeting.

 

Jill Nelson – Supplementation of Original XPC or AviCare to reduce stress in broilers. Jill is a Ph.D. student working under the direction of Dr. Gregory Archer.

 

 

 

Brooke Bodle – Defining the effect of higher dietary arginine, vitamin C, vitamins and lower dietary digestible amino acid levels on broiler performance, meat yield, and the incidence of white striping (WS) and woody breast (WB). Brooke is a MS student working under the joint direction of Dr. Christine Alvarado and Dr. Jason Lee.

 

 

Christine N.Vuong  – The antibody-guided vaccine method provides full protection against H5N1 HPAI challenge. Christine is a Ph.D. student working under the direction of Dr. Luc Berghman.  This is the third consecutive year that Christine has been recognized by PSA with a presentation award.
