    Dr. Christine Alvarado, Associate Professor, was the recipient of the 2014 Poultry Science Association – Novus International Teaching Award. Dr. Christine Alvarado, Dale Hyatt and Mickey Speakmon Teach the Poultry Session of the 2014 Barbeque Summer Camp

Dr. Christine Alvarado along with Dale Hyatt and Mickey Speakmon taught attendees of the 2014 Barbeque Summer Camp all about the poultry industry and how to make BBQ chicken. They also made jalapeno cheese sausage, beer can chicken, mayonnaise rubbed drums, breast and dark meat fajitas, and orange marmalade Siracha wings. 2014 Market Poultry Production & Selection Workshop A Huge Success

The 2014 Market Poultry Production and Selection Workshop was a huge success this year. Monroe H. Fuchs, ’56 selected as a 2014 Distinguished Alumni

Monroe H. Fuchs, ’56 has been recognized with the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor bestowed upon a former student of Texas A&M University.  Awarded jointly by the university and The Association, this award recognizes those Aggies who have achieved excellence in their chosen professions and made meaningful contributions to Texas A&M University and their local communities.  Congratulations! COALS Advising Team Receives 2014 University Advisers and Counselors Team Advising Award

Poultry Science undergraduate advisor Jennifer Allen along with seven undergraduate advisors from other College of Agriculture and Life Sciences departments were awarded the 2014 University Advisors a and Counselors Team Advising Award. Matthew March Receives Senior Merit Award

Graduating Poultry Science senior Matthew March was recognized with the Senior Merit Award during the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ annual Spring Awards Convocation held on April 12. Based on leadership, scholarship and service at the department, college and university levels, the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Senior Merit Award is the highest award given to undergraduates by the College.  Congratulations!   Posted 5/13/14

Dr. Suresh Pillai Awarded Grant

Dr. Suresh Pillai was awarded a grant of $242,902 from the Texas A&M AgriLife Water Seed Grant Program for the research project “Significant Expansion of Water Reuse using Electron Beam (eBeam) Technology.  Co-PIs for this grant include Bill Batchelor (Civil Engineering) and Yongheng Huang (Biological and Agricultural Engineering).  Electron beam (eBeam) technology is the most inexpensive approach of rapidly generating high concentrations of free radicals. HLSR Show Broiler Chick Order Distribution

  HLSR Show broiler chicks will be distributed Tuesday, January 28th as originally planned. In the event that adverse weather creates a road icing problem and pick up for some counties is delayed, we will hold the chicks in a climate controlled environment ,overnight for pick up on the following day, ( Wednesday, Jan 29th). This extra day, if necessary, will have no detrimental effects on chick livability and performance provided they are transported properly.
