Poultry Institute for Youth

June 9-11, 2019

The U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, in conjunction with the Texas A&M Poultry Science Department and the Aggie Leadership Council sponsor the TAMU Poultry Institute for Youth. The Institute is held every summer on the Texas A&M campus. The purpose of this program is to give high school students a chance to learn about the poultry industry through hands-on activities. The participants will have the opportunity to meet Texas A&M staff as well as leaders from the poultry industry. A portion of the institute will consist of hands-on experience by working directly with poultry as well as visiting poultry facilities. 1. Attendees must be a high school junior or senior in the following school year, or a college freshman;
2. Have an interest in poultry;
3. Willing to interact with other individuals/groups about the poultry industry;
4. Interest in meeting with individuals from Texas A&M University and the poultry industry.

A registration fee of $50 will be required for each participant that is selected to attend the Institute. This fee is to be paid upon acceptance to the program. Registration fees will be paid online once students receive their acceptance packets. Do not send money with the application. All other expenses, except transportation to and from College Station, will be covered by the sponsorship of the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association.

Applications & Selection Process:
Applications are available in the spring and may be submitted through mail, email (allyson.spears@tamu.edu), or fax. Participants will be selected by members of the Texas A&M University Poultry Institute Staff. Eligible participants will be selected on the basis of their applications and supporting documents.
